Quite right. A lad should always be completely naked to receive discipline. Simply requiring him to lower his trousers and underpants and bare his buttocks is not sufficient. The lad must experience the humiliation of total nudity and full genital exposure to properly experience the punishment. Those who allow a lad the modesty of his underpants are very misguided. Had 3 brothers - either we held each other down or we were tired down - sometimes had to stand with hands behind head to get it. Using restraint is actually quite safe - could concentrate on working through the pain. A few times hauled up our toes from a beam in the basement - loved that, actually. Naked and completely vulnerable

My old man definitely never wanted to appear weak and my brothers and I would have been disappointed in him if he hadn't laid it on hard - he knew we could take it. Being naked actually didn't bother us that much but we felt vulnerable - any part of the body was available for punishment. Restraint should also be used if a lad won't behave himself and take it.
